Purpose of Position:
This position is responsible for collaborating in the development, implementation and evaluation of long and short range planning and programs for emergency preparedness and recovery as well as policies and procedures for the State of New Mexico. Incumbent will plan, coordinate, maintain and update the Health Emergency Operations Plan, consistent with accreditation and state guidelines. This position will correspond with Federal, State, County and community groups for emergency preparedness, assist in preparation for mitigation, response and recover activities in the event of a disaster. Incumbent will interface with five (5) regional offices, oversee the Department Operations Center (DOC) and manage two (2) planning and resource staff members.
This position is a Pay Band 70.
Line Manager II
A Bachelor's Degree in any field of study from an accredited college or university and four (4) years of professional level experience operating within limited parameters and guidelines directly related to the purpose of the position defined by the agency at the time of recruitment. Any combination of education from an accredited college or university and/or direct experience in this occupation totaling eight (8) years may substitute for the required education and experience. A hiring agency will designate a portion of the required experience to include supervisory and/or specialized experience. Any required licensure, certification or registration shall be defined at the time of recruitment and will be in addition to the above requirements.
Must possess and maintain a valid Driver's License. Must possess and maintain a current Defensive Driving Course Certificate from the State of New Mexico or must pass and receive Defensive Driving Course Certification as a condition of continued employment.

Work is performed in an office setting with exposure to Visual/Video Display Terminal (VDT) and extensive personal computer and phone usage. Some travel with the occasional overnight stay may be required. This position is part of an Emergency Response Team and is subject to callback during health emergencies and disasters.
